The archaeological excavation at Rocky Nook, Massachusetts is sponsored by The Pilgrim John Howland Society. The purpose of the excavation is to discover more about the everyday life of the pilgrim John Howland and his family through the material culture left behind at the John and Joseph Howland homestead sites.

This is the Westerwald rim and body sherd we discovered at the end of the day on Wednesday. It is a German ceramic popular at the time of occupation of the site by John and Joseph Howland.
